Terms of Service
Last updated: October 7, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Hyun Po Sim, a sole proprietorship operating as CueTaps in Ontario, Canada (“CueTaps”, “we”, “us”). By using cuetaps.com — as a performer or as a fan — you agree to them.
1. What CueTaps is
CueTaps lets performers (buskers, DJs, musicians and other live performers) receive tips from fans through a personal page and QR code. Payments are processed by Stripe. CueTaps is not a bank and does not hold performers’ money; tips are paid out to performers through Stripe.
2. For fans
- You don’t need an account to tip.
- A tip is a voluntary gift to the performer. It doesn’t buy goods, services or a guaranteed performance.
- Tips are final and non-refundable, except as described in our Refund Policy (for example, duplicate or unauthorized charges).
- The minimum tip is $5. Amounts are charged in the performer’s currency (CAD or USD).
- If you choose “send the full amount”, the extra you add covers CueTaps’ share so the performer receives your full stated tip.
- If you join a performer’s email list, the performer receives your email address and is responsible for how they contact you. You can unsubscribe from their emails at any time.
3. For performers
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
- Keep your account details accurate and your password secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
- To receive payouts you must connect a Stripe account and accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement. Payout timing is set by Stripe and CueTaps (currently weekly).
- Your performer name, link and profile must not impersonate anyone, mislead fans or infringe anyone’s rights. Your link is permanent once created.
- You’re responsible for reporting and paying any taxes on the tips you receive.
- If you collect fan emails through CueTaps, you are responsible for using them lawfully, including under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) — for example, identifying yourself and honouring unsubscribe requests.
4. Fees
CueTaps’ fee is 10% per tip (75¢ on tips under $7.50); the performer receives the rest. That covers everything — card processing (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) and payouts to the performer’s bank. There are no monthly or setup fees.
Why 75¢ on tips under $7.50? Card networks charge a fixed amount on every payment, however small. On tips under $7.50, 10% doesn’t cover that cost. Examples: on a $5 tip the performer receives $4.25; on $10, $9.00; on $20, $18.00.
We may change fees with at least 30 days’ notice to performers; changes don’t apply to tips already made.
5. Disputes and chargebacks
If a fan disputes a tip with their bank and the dispute is lost, the tip amount may be recovered from the performer’s Stripe balance or future payouts. We may suspend accounts with unusual dispute or fraud activity.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t use CueTaps to:
- break any law, or collect money for anything illegal;
- commit fraud, test stolen cards, or launder money;
- harass anyone, or post hateful, sexual or misleading content;
- interfere with, scrape or overload the service, or access accounts that aren’t yours.
7. Your content
You own what you add to your profile (name, bio, links). You give us permission to display it on CueTaps so the service works. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
8. Suspension and closing accounts
You can stop using CueTaps at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing dreamhiveinc@gmail.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put fans, performers or CueTaps at risk. Tips already paid out aren’t affected.
9. No warranty and limits on liability
CueTaps is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running but can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, CueTaps isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost income at a gig), and our total liability to you is limited to the fees CueTaps earned from your tips in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be waived.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we’ll notify performers by email or on the dashboard. Continuing to use CueTaps after an update means you accept it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be handled in the courts of Ontario.
